Set on a farm, the wedding featured the couple's vibrant community of artist friends: performances by their East LA friends Las Cafeteras, La Pelanga DJ's, dinner by Danny Perales, and more. There was Mexican and Filipino food, a wonderful tinikling performance by the American Center of Philippine Arts and live Son Jarocho music, to honor their cultures and community.
Roseli's hair + makeup artist, Heather Boyer, also a yoga teacher, led her through guided meditation and deep breathing in preparation for the ceremony.
Roseli's stunning vintage reception party dress was custom made in the Philippines.
As Heather recreated Keira Knightley's smoky eyes on Roseli, Jacob was in the room next door, practicing his vows.
The bride finalized last minute details with her emcee, Sunny. Then, I took a few more shots of beautiful Roseli before ceremony time.
We made our way to the hilltop, where a band of the couple's friends performed Beirut.
Kawal officiated, as Jacob and Roseli exchanged the most tender, loving vows. To that we say...AMOR!
Las Cafeteras kicked off the celebration with vibrant Son Jarocho music. Hector of Las Cafeteras (below).
A youth Filipino dance troupe from American Center of Philippine Arts performed tinikling, a pre-Spanish Filipino dance, which the couple participated in too.
They danced some more...
...then, friends and family lined up to pin dollar bills on the couple for a "dollar dance."
The couple's community of friends prepped and plated the salad, while chef Danny Perales of Chilmol Catering prepared the main course.
